Fundraising and Donations

Fundraising

We raise money through concerts, donations and membership fees to fund student grants, prizes and scholarships.  We also seek donations to the Friends of the School of Music Public Fund to support a Friends of the School of Music Performance Scholarship. We share an investment with ANU in the Friends Endowment Project Fund (within the University's Endowment for Excellence) and provide advice on the projects to which income from the fund is directed. In 2011 a bequest enabled us to establish a second fund, the Christel Larko Music Scholarship endowment, which funds voice and keyboard scholarships. A third, the Barry Fankhauser endowment, commenced funding of the Fankhauser Travelling Fellowship in 2015.

The Friends are honoured to be supported by our patron, Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley.

Fundraising concerts

This year there will be concerts at embassies as well as at venues at the School, with performances by staff, students and alumni of the School. The concert program is updated regularly, and advertised in our newsletters.

The Friends of the School of Music Public Fund

The Friends of the School of Music Public Fund supports, inter alia, an annual undergraduate scholarship, the Friends of the School of Music Performance Scholarship. The scholarship is offered annually to a newly enrolling performance student, commencing in first year, for up to four years, dependent on the student's progress. Your donation to this fund will allow ANU to continue to attract talented and dedicated performance students.
