Australian Chamber Orchestra - Tognetti's Beethoven

Richard Tognetti directs Beethoven's Symphony No.1, Coriolan–Overture and Triple Concerto plus new work, Water, by Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood.

BEETHOVEN Coriolan – Overture
BEETHOVEN Symphony No.1
BEETHOVEN Triple Concerto

Richard Tognetti Director & Violin
Timo-Veikko Valve Cello

Yevgeny Sudbin Piano

This concert features three bold Beethoven works: his majestic first foray into symphonic writing, the stormy and drama-filled Coriolan–Overture and his Triple Concerto, featuring playful dynamism between Richard Tognetti, ACO principal cellist Timo-Veikko Valve and emotionally expansive Russian pianist Yevgeny Sudbin.

The ACO is thrilled to premiere Water, the long-awaited new piece by acclaimed musician Jonny Greenwood. Following his latest international tour with legendary band Radiohead, Greenwood joined them in the studio writing a new work especially for the Australian Chamber Orchestra. One of the world’s greatest guitarists, Greenwood also writes great orchestral music. He composed the award winning film score for There Will Be Blood, was composer-in-residence with the BBC Concert Orchestra and has written scores for films The MasterNorwegian Wood and We Need to Talk About Kevin.
