CSO's season finale, supported by the Embassy of Spain, features warm Iberian textures expertly realised through the baton of Nicholas Milton.  We open with Richard Strauss’ extraordinary tone poem, Don Juan.  Lusciously extravagant and intimately tender, Don Juan takes us on a deeply emotional journey. We continue the Spanish sojourn with renowned Australian guitarist Karin Schaupp and the effervescent, transcendentally moving Concierto de Aranjuez.

To conclude 2014, the massive, iconic Beethoven’s Fifth – a work that continuously redefines the concept of artistic immortality and destiny; a pure manifestation of the emotional power of symphonic music.
