Public Lecture: Dr Leslie Howard 'Liszt-Wagner-Verdi'

Public Lecture: Dr Leslie Howard 'Liszt-Wagner-Verdi'

Public Lecture Series: Richard Wagner Bicentenary

Internationally renowned pianist and composer Dr Leslie Howard is the world's leading champion of the piano works of Franz Liszt, having recorded his complete oeuvre for Hyperion Records (almost 100 full-length CD's); the largest recording project ever undertaken by a solo recording artist.

In a year that is focusing on the 200th birthdays of Wagner and Verdi, Howard will present a timely lecture-recital focusing on the man whose music, more than any other, established the sound of musical romanticism, and whose daughter was to become Wagner's second wife and the principal inspiration for his later works, particularly Parsifal.
