The ANU School of Music and ArtsACT are excited to announce the inaugural Soundbites ACT event with special guest Andrew Farriss, happening on Saturday 24 October at ANU Union Bar.
An initiative of the 2015 H.C. Coombs Fellow Andrew Farriss (main songwriter for INXS), Soundbites ACT will provide an ongoing opportunity for young and emerging musicians to present their original music with the support of Canberra’s local music community.
“During my time here in Canberra as the HC Coombs Fellow for 2015, I feel fortunate to have seen so much inspired musical creativity and I am excited to be performing alongside these amazing local musicians and songwriters, check this out,” Andrew Farriss said.
The inaugural Soundbites ACT concert will feature a line-up of local bands including The Gypsy Scholars, Hugo Lee Band, Eponymous, and more to be announced. The annual concert is produced through an ArtsACT initiative which provides financial support for arts development and engagement in Canberra, allowing young artists to showcase their skills and develop their musicianship with the mentorship of experienced artists such as Andrew Farriss.
