Student Satie recital

Student Satie recital

As part of the 150th birthday celebration for composer Erik Satie, the ANU Open School of Music presents a special concert featuring staff and students from the Open School of Music.

Tutored by the famed Australian pianist Stephanie McCallum, a select number of ANU OSoM ensembles, soloists, and recent graduates present works for voice, flute, piano, clarinet and violin. Celebrating the flippant, unsentimental and avant-garde fin de siecle composer Erik Satie, and his influence on the French posse Les Six, join our students in the Larry Sitsky Recital Room as they perform works including Satie’s sublime Gymnopadie N 1, bizarre La belle excentrique, flippant Pieces in the form of a Pear, and the Milhaurd’s Latin romp Scaramouche.
