School of Music performance competitions for 2017 totalling $27,500

18 Performance Prizes and 23 Scholarships demonstrate the level of community support that is on offer to new and current ANU School of Music students.

2017 will see the return of the prestigious Whitworth Roach Classical Music Performance Competition, the Margaret Smiles Accompaniment Prize, the Marcia Ruff Hewitt Jazz and Contemporary Music Prizes, and the Friends of the School of Music Ensemble Prizes. Total prize money up for grabs - $27,500!

The ANU School of Music is thrilled to announce the winners of prizes awarded for 2016. These prizes celebrate the quality of performance and musical accomplishment displayed by current and graduating students. To find out more about a particular prize select from the links below. Harold Wesley Allen Memorial Prize:

Imad Nassir Prize for Encouragement in Piano Performance:
Hanul Lee

Llewellyn Choir Prize for Most Outstanding Instrumentalist:
Helena Popovic

Llewellyn Choir Prize for Best Vocalist:
Jade McFaul

Margaret Smiles Accompaniment Prize:
Mia Huang

Peter and Lena Karmel Anniversary Prize in Music:
Louis Montgomery

To be eligible for the upcoming competitions, competitors need to be enrolled full time at ANU in an undergraduate or postgraduate program.
