Get ready for a week of concerts in the lead-up to our Keyboard Institute Open Day 2026! The ANU School of Music is proud to hold custodianship of the largest accessible and playable historic keyboard collection in the Southern Hemisphere, and it is a pleasure to share it with you during this annual showcase event.
The week kicks off on Tuesday 29 September with an instalment of our regular lunchtime concert series featuring three radically different keyboard instruments from the ANU Keyboard Institute. Faculty members Sophie Min and Edward Neeman (piano) will be joined by special guest Chris Latham (violin) for a concert of Bach, Beethoven, and re-imagined jazz standards.
On Thursday 1 October guest artist Erin Helyard will be featured in a solo harpsichord recital, thanks to our Industry Partners Pinchgut Opera and the University of Sydney.
On Friday 2 October, the ANU School of Music will be opening the doors to the world-renowned Keyboard Institute’s Historic Instrument Collection for a full day of workshops, masterclasses, talks, tours, and other opportunities to get up close and learn more about some of the most exciting and rare historic keyboard instruments in the country. The week's festivities will conclude with a final evening showcase concert featuring students, faculty and guests.
We would also like to acknowledge that support for these and many other activities at the ANU School of Music are generously provided by the Friends of the ANU School of Music. Donate or join the Friends here.
