Whitworth Roach Classical Music Performance Competition celebrates five years

The annual Whitworth-Roach Classical Music Performance Competition is a chance for ANU students to win a share of $20, 000 of generous prize money.

As a key event on School of Music calendar, the competition celebrates the talent and dedication of classical music students. Applicants have the opportunity to perform for internationally acclaimed musicians and a gathering of the wider community. ANU students from across the campus are eligible to enter this competition to win one of the following prizes.

First prize - $10,000

Second prize - $5,000

Third prize - $2,500

People’s choice prize - $ 2,500

We invite you to join us for this musical evening and the competition finals on Thursday 19 September 2019. Audience can vote to award the People’s choice prize.

The Whitworth Roach Classical Music Competition is supported by the generous donation of Ms Christine Roach. 


The School of Music is proud to welcome Louise Johnson (harp) and Janet Webb (flute) as guest artists and adjudicators for the Competition.

Louise and Janet will perform in the Whitworth Roach Classical Music Concert on Wednesday 18 September - 6pm, Big Band Room, ANU School of Music.
