Jenny Binovec graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Australia in 2004 with Dean’s Honours. Whilst there, Jenny performed regularly with the Conservatorium’s major ensembles. She has also performed with the New Zealand Opera Orchestra. Jenny continued to be actively involved in chamber music frequently performing at various events and festivals throughout NSW.

After graduating, Jenny spent two years based in Coonabarabran in regional NSW. There she enjoyed teaching all woodwind and brass instruments and also conducting school and community ensembles. She then returned to Sydney to recommence teaching clarinet and saxophone, conduct school concert bands and perform chamber music. For several years now, Jenny has also been examining for the Australian Music Examinations Board.

Drawn to adventure and the unknown, Jenny moved to Prague, Czech Republic in 2012 and spent four years teaching, performing and travelling extensively throughout Europe and beyond.

Returning to the Australian music scene has been an exciting challenge. Jenny held the position of Deputy Director and Head of Woodwind, Brass and Percussion at the Riverina Conservatorium of Music in Wagga Wagga, leading a diverse team of teachers working within many schools across the region. Jenny continues to enjoy teaching a busy and large clarinet and saxophone studio in the Riverina as well as conducting various reed ensembles and school concert bands.

With over fifteen years teaching experience in various roles Jenny is passionate about music and believes strongly in the value of musical education and the significant role it plays in enriching people’s lives. Jenny is looking forward to joining the Australian National University’s Open School of Music.
