Katrina Tang holds a Bachelor of Music/Laws (Honours) from the ANU School of Music, where she majored in Piano Performance under the tutelage of Wendy Lorenz. Katrina began playing piano at the age of 3, studying in Sydney with Catriona Stafford and Katerina Makarova and she obtained her A.Mus.A and L.Mus.A at the ages of 12 and 14 respectively. During her undergraduate studies at the ANU, she was the recipient of several prestigious awards and scholarships, including the Friends of the ANU School of Music Performance Scholarship (2016), the Winifred Burston Memorial Prize (2016), the Erika Haas Prize (2016), the Friends of the ANU School of Music Ensemble Prize and People’s Choice (2017) and the Imad Nassir Prize for Encouragement in Piano Performance (2019). Katrina is a regular pianist for the Canberra Symphony Orchestra and she is also in demand as a Musical Director, winning the 2017 Best Musical Director and Best Orchestra at the Canberra Area Theatre Awards.
