Ronan Apcar

Ronan Apcar is an Australian pianist with a "sensitive approach to all styles of music" (Elizabeth Powell). Growing up learning both classical and jazz, Ronan has a well rounded technique and appreciation for many styles of music, ranging from the Baroque to the avant-garde, and from jazz to contemporary.

Ronan has experience performing in classical and jazz chamber ensembles, as a concert pianist or as light background music, and performing solo with orchestra. His main focus though is on art music of the 20th and 21st century, particularly of lesser known and Australian composers.

He also works actively as an accompanist for instrumental or vocal soloists, and has worked as part of rhythm sections and as a session musician.

Notable performances include: Rachmaninoff Hall, Moscow; Government House, NSW; Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, NSW; Hungarian Embassy, ACT.
