Visitor and Accessibility Information

The School of Music is centrally located on the western side of Canberra, within the campus of the Australian National University. Concerts typically take place in either Llewellyn Hall, the Larry Sitsky Recital Room, or the Big Band Room.

Parking

Please always read the signs and obey the rules for parking at ANU.

There are four parking areas in close proximity to Llewellyn Hall: in front of the School; adjacent to the School next to the Peter Karmel Building; in the Baldessin multi-storey car park across the road; and behind the School of Art and Design. The City West multi-storey car park off Marcus Clarke Street, and paid parking next to the Street Theatre, are within a few minutes walk. Staff permit parking areas are available to park free of charge outside the times of 8am to 5pm.

Disabled parking and disabled access

There are a total of 12 disabled parking spaces in the areas mentioned above.

Llewellyn Hall provides disabled access on both the ground level and level 4. If you have parked out the front of the School or in the car parks opposite and adjacent, enter through the automatic glass doors. If you have parked behind the School of Art and Design, please use the footbridge and enter through the glass doors that lead into the foyer outside Doors 1 and 2 of Llewellyn Hall. The lift can be found at the bottom of the stairs on each level.

Llewellyn Hall has four wheelchair spaces: two at the front; either side of row B; and two at the read on either side of row W. The disabled toilet is located on level 4, which can be accessed via the lift.

Prams and walking frames

Due to fire regulations, prams may not be taken into Llewellyn Hall. Prams can be left with the door staff. For the same reason, walking frames must also be removed from the aisle once you have taken your seat. An usher will take and store the frame for you, and return it to you, both at interval and at the conclusion of the performance.

Amenities

Toilets are situated on the ground floor outside Door 6, on level 4 near Door 1, and on level 5 near Door 3. There is a disabled toilet on level 4, which can be accessed from the lift. In the Peter Karmel building, toilet facilities can be found on the ground level near the entrance facing Childers Street.
