CMC Program Summary & Term Dates 2026

Chamber & Vocal Ensembles 

Ages 12 and up 

Performance: chamber and broadly classical music in small groups.  

Weekly CMC program. Fridays, 1-hour rehearsals.   

My Song: Gugan Gulwan 

Young people (from Gugan Gulwan Aboriginal Corporation) 

Contemporary music. Student-led music focus. 

Weekly during ACT school terms. Monday afternoons, 1-2 hours.  

Girls Jazz+ 

Ages 12 and up. For young women and gender diverse individuals.  

Performance: jazz, improvisation, contemporary.  

Weekly CMC program. Thursdays, 1.5-hour rehearsals.  

CATS (Creative Aural & Theory Skills) 

All ages (generally 12 and up). 

Theory & Aural: classes in general practice (CATS 1, 2, 3), but also Jazz and Composition 

Weekly CMC program. Depending on the class, either Wednesday or Thursday afternoon/evening. 1-hour classes.  

Jazz Combos 

Jazz Combos – ages 12 – 21 

Jazz Jambos – adults 

Performance: jazz and improvisation. 

Weekly CMC program. Combos have 1-hour rehearsals on either Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon. Jambos have 1.5-hour rehearsals on Tuesday afternoons.  

Wamburang Women's Choir 

All ages. For Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander women.  

Performance: First Nations languages and contemporary choral music.  

Weekly CMC program. Mondays, 1.5-hour rehearsals.  

Sing With Toby 

Ages 18+. 

Performance: community choir exploring various styles.  

Weekly program at Tuggeranong Arts Centre. Tuesdays, 1.5-hour rehearsals.  

Community Rock School  

Ages 18+. For people with at least 6-months on their instrument.  

Performance: contemporary music in a band setting.  

5-week course (in May) and separate 10-week course (starting July) 

Song To Studio 

Ages 16+. For singer-songwriters (or people who dabble with songwriting) 

Creation (songwriting) and production (recording) 

5x Saturdays in June/July.  

Blue Room Sessions 

Ages 6+. Anyone who wants to perform in a concert (acoustic/broadly classical music) at ANU.  

Performance/concert 

4x sessions (with 3 concerts per session) each year.

First Nations people can apply to intern at the ANU recording studio.
