Congratulations to Dr Sally Walker, esteemed lecturer at the ANU School of Music, on her nomination for Limelight’s 2024 Artist of the Year. This award celebrates Australian artists who have made an exceptional impact on the arts over the past year.

Dr Walker, a distinguished flautist and Senior Lecturer in Classical Performance (Woodwind), has captivated audiences with her performances and made significant contributions through her teaching and creative work. This nomination highlights her dedication to music and the inspiration she brings to the ANU community and beyond.

In this last year, she has released her critically acclaimed “Boccherini: Chamber Works for Flute” album (Avie Records), which gained a 5-star review from BBC Magazine and explored the provenance of Luigi Boccherini’s works for her instrument that are seldom performed or recorded, investigating the dilemmas posed in the existing editions.

Voting is now open, and we encourage everyone to support Dr Walker by participating. Let’s help showcase the outstanding talent at ANU!

- Voting closes on Sunday, 5 January 2025.
- Winners will be announced on Monday, 3 February 2025.
