Applications Now Open: Space to Create - First Nations Music Residency

We're excited to announce that applications are now open for the Space to Create: First Nations Music Residency. This immersive program is designed for emerging and established First Nations musicians, producers, and songwriters who are ready to take their craft to the next level.
Eight selected participants will be supported to expand their creative ideas, collaborate, and strengthen their artistic practice.
The residency is delivered in two stages:
- Stage 1: Group Residency
- When: February 16–20, 2026
- Where: ANU School of Music, Canberra
- What: A one-week intensive focusing on workshops, masterclasses, and recording sessions with other artists.
- Stage 2: Individual Residency
- When: One week of focused studio time, to be scheduled between March 23 – October 19, 2026
- Where: ANU School of Music, Canberra
- What: Tailored one-on-one mentoring and dedicated studio time.
What we provide: We will cover your travel, accommodation, and allowances. You will also receive a participation fee, access to professional studios, mentoring, and industry workshops.
