Community Music Centre U3A (MU3A) Crowd Back For Lecture and Concert Series

Wednesday 1 May 2024

The new collaboration between the ANU Community Music Centre (CMC) and U3A (University of the Third Age) ACT offers participants a series of music-centric lectures accompanied by a concert or performance. Following the success of the first lecture and performance, presented by countertenor, Tobias Cole, on 26 March 2024, the CMC welcomed back over 60 U3A members to the second lecture of the series on 23 April 2024.

To contrast their recent exploration into the operas of Handel, participants at the latest MU3A lecture had the opportunity to experience the music and unique vocal techniques of Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald, as presented by local Jazz vocalist and educator, Leisa Keen. Leisa delved into the careers of these two jazz giants in story and song, and even had the audience trying out some of the techniques!

We look forward to welcoming the U3A crowd back again in May.
