The Open School of Music's DMP Jazz Program is looking for keen young drummers (ages 12 - 21) to join either the Tuesday 5:30pm ensemble or the Wednesday 4:30pm ensemble. These ensembles run for an hour per week during term time (see here for our term dates) and there are 14 weeks each semester. The Developing Musicians Jazz (DMP) program provides small ensemble experience for the aspiring jazz musician. Directed by our qualified tutors, students participating in the DMP Jazz program rehearse for 1 hour per week in jazz combos with their peers. With an emphasis on learning ensemble skills, repertoire, and improvisation, students in this program have the opportunity to practice these skills both in rehearsal and live-performance settings. Applicants must be ACT residents between the ages of 12 and 21, and already profience at their instrument.
