For some musicians, the right environment makes all the difference. For Gypsy Cook and Joshua Robinson, that place has been the ANU School of Music — where both began as undergraduate students and have continued through to Higher Degree by Research candidacy.
Gypsy speaks warmly of the support she has found throughout her time at the School.
"I feel so lucky to be at a music school where the staff genuinely care about my musical, academic, and personal development," she says. "Both my undergraduate and postgraduate experiences have been overwhelmingly positive."
For Joshua, the School has offered something equally valuable: the freedom to explore.
"The ANU School of Music provided me with a holistic music experience that encouraged me to explore all aspects of my musicality — from composition to performance and now research," he says.
Their stories speak to what the ANU School of Music strives to offer every student: a supportive, connected community where musicians are encouraged to grow at every stage — and where the journey is just beginning.
