School of Music students announced as inaugural CSO Kingsland Fellows

Congratulations to the Canberra Symphony Orchestra's new Kingsland Fellows, School of Music students Enola Jefferis, Milan Kolundzija and Vivienne Tran, and ANU Orchestra members Mia Hughes and Jackson Boyd! The CSO writes, "These exceptional young artists were chosen from a highly competitive audition process for their outstanding musicianship and eagerness to make a significant contribution to the artistic community of Canberra."
Milan Kolundzija has been playing and teaching as a clarinettist in Canberra for the past five years, under the guidance of renowned teachers Alan Vivian and Dr Eloise Fisher at the Australian National University. More recently, Milan began dabbling in historical performance practices and the period clarinet through lessons with Nicole van Brüggen. He is currently undertaking an Honours year with clarinettist Jason Noble. Milan has featured as a soloist with the ANU Orchestra, and has performed in programs hosted by Art Song Canberra and the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra. Milan has also been a keen clarinet teacher and enjoys sharing his enthusiasm for music with others.
Enola Jefferis grew up on a sheep farm in the small town of Meerlieu in Victoria. She started learning cello with Rosemary Iversen and now, she is studying a Bachelor of music majoring in performance on cello at ANU with David Pereira. She has played with a range of different groups and ensembles including quartets, piano trios, quintets, duets, clarinet quintets, string orchestra and the Gippsland Symphony Orchestra, as well as receiving mentorship from the Flinders Quartet. A highlight was being part of John Noble’s Regional Music Exchange Program with ITET and the Melbourne Recital Centre in a quartet. More recently she has been part of the Women in Music program at ANU run by Anna McDonald, has been playing in the ANU Orchestra, ANU Chamber Orchestra and the Wy Yung Quartet, as well as a multitude of musicals including Matilda, Dogfight and Cats.
Australian pianist Vivienne Tran has won top prizes at piano competitions around Australia, including the Australian Capital Territories Keyboard Association Competition and Eisteddfodau in Goulburn, Cowra, Nowra, Wollongong, Wagga Wagga and Orange. She has also won various scholarships, such as the Orange Eisteddfod Junior Piano Scholarship and the Rose Fraser Memorial Award. Receiving 2nd prize in the Advanced Category at the 2018 ACTKA PIano Competition, Vivienne has performed at the National Library of Australia and Parliament House for the centenary program ‘The Musical Offering’ and has performed in various ensembles and orchestras on both piano and cello in Llewellyn Hall at the Australian National University and in the High Court of Australia. Vivienne was awarded her Associate Diploma of Performance in 2018 from the AMEB and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Music degree at the Australian National University with Dr. Scott Davie as a scholarship student (Crompton Undergraduate Scholarship for Keyboard).
