Padma Newsome

Padma Newsome is an Australian composer, arranger, recording artist, and performer based in Mallacoota, Victoria. His musical palette expresses colours of the coastal wilderness where he lives, blended with modernist avant-garde, Hindusthani and folk elements from India, chamber music remnants, and the energy founded in the pop/rock world.
Padma is a community musician and an embedded researcher in Arts recovery. (ANU) His current work focuses on the township of Mallacoota following the 2019 New Year’s Eve Firestorm, where he directs and delivers the “Ashes to Music” programme.
