Samba Batucada Percussion - Beginners Term with Raio De Sol

Feel the rhythm of Brazil right here in Canberra with Raio de Sol’s Samba Percussion Beginners Term. This 6-week program is designed for all experience levels - whether you’ve never picked up a drum or already have a musical background. Across five hands-on classes, you’ll dive into the energy and tradition of samba percussion, learning how a full bateria (percussion ensemble) works while exploring the cultural roots and stories behind this powerful musical style.

By the end of the term, you’ll have learned at least two different instruments from the bateria and built a repertoire of three songs, gaining a deeper, more connected understanding of how each part fits together. The journey culminates in a vibrant public performance in week 6, where you’ll experience the joy of playing as part of a large ensemble in front of friends, family, and the wider community. No instruments needed - just bring yourself, some water, and good vibes.
