After completing the Bachelor of Music at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music Lindy moved to Germany where she continued her cello studies at the Nordwestdeutsche Musikakademie in Detmold. She spent 10 years in Germany studying, playing in the orchestra of the Landestheater in Detmold as well as teaching at the music schools in Detmold and Lage. She also worked as a mentor for students studying cello pedagogy at the Musikakademie. Since returning to Australia, Lindy has established a busy cello teaching practice in Canberra in her own studio, at various Canberra schools and at the ANU Open School of Music. Apart from teaching the cello, Lindy has for many years been the Convenor and Coordinator of several instrumental programs at the ANU Open School of Music. She is a member of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra and also performs regularly with other ensembles.
