ANU Orchestra players perform in virtual string quintet

Over 100 young musicians auditioned to be a part of the first ANU Orchestra earlier this year.
55 talented players from across the ANU, Alumni and pre-tertiary community were successful in competitive auditions to join the ANU Orchestra. After only three rehearsals, all Orchestra activities had to be postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
A small group of ANU Orchestra players have since recorded a virtual performance of Elgar’s Serenade for Strings to share with fellow music lovers - with the help of ANU School of Music Technical Officers.
These musicians came together from various disciplines, including: Composition, Performance, Political Science, Psychology and Computer Science.
The ANU Orchestra is looking forward to performing together to a live audience when it becomes safe for the community.
